Recommending the most suitable amplifier for your speaker is impossible because it depends so much on the room acoustics, room size, your sound preference, your budget, listening volume and what is available in your market. There are so many different amplifier brands each typically offering multiple models that we are unable to test every possible amplifier/speaker combination in order to give you a recommendation.
Also Dynaudio cannot recommend a specific amount of output wattage for your Dynaudio loudspeakers, because it really depends on the power demands of the room size and listening volume.
In general wattage numbers depend on how the amplifier manufacturer measures the power output: some manufacturers state Watt in 2 channels driven, lowest distortion, 20 Hz – 20 kHz, at 8 ohms while others measure 2 channels with higher distortion at 1 kHz, and through that state higher Watt numbers. Wattage numbers also depend on the power stability in dynamic conditions and the current the amplifier delivers.
We suggest to visit your nearest Dynaudio dealer who will be able to give you the best advice and let you try out different combinations.
The answers to the following questions are likely to help you and and your dealer with finding the perfect amplifier for your requirements:
- What are my requirements regarding connectivity (inputs and outputs both digital (like optical, coaxial, AES/EBU, HDMI) and analog), or: which sources (CD Player, record player, streamer, TV...) do I currently own, which sources do I plan to connect to the amplifier in the future?
- Which features do I need, eg. app control, built in streaming functionality, multiroom audio, bluetooth, cinema bypass?
- Which Dynaudio loudspeakers am I intending to combine the amplifier with?
- What is the size of my listening room?
- What is my personal preference regarding the sound signature of the amplifier? Do I prefer tube amplifiers, Class-D or a Class A/B amplifier?
- Last but not least: what is my budget?
